Blawan – Bohla EP
The mighty label R&S continue their assault on electronic music by drafting in upcoming producer Blawan. The producer’s tunes on Hessle last year caught our attention and what he brings to the R&S table is an understated and intelligently constructed EP with elements of techno, electro and 2 step packed with sounds that could easily have come from the R&S back catalogue.
Starting with a shady mininal techno feel, title track “Bohla” skips along with occasional threads of acid squelches interwoven. “Kaz” is more atmospheric and a fatter acid accompaniment brimming over the rim while “Lavender” has a driving electro feel. It might be last track on the EP but it pushed our buttons the most.
