Clivillés & Cole – A Deeper Love

Robert Clivillés and David Cole notched up an impressive number of hits in the late 80′s/early 90s as C&C Music Factory. The duo also produced work for some of the biggest names in musical history with their production gracing artists such as James Brown, Michael Jackson, Donna Summer and Aretha Franklin. For me though, it’s their 1992 track “A Deeper Love” that marks their place in electronic music history.
Originally tucked away on the flip of a very forgettable U2 cover, the track’s huge vocal (courtesy of Deborah Cooper) and organ hook are sure to bring a lump to the throat of any house music fan of a certain age.

That’s quite a nice song but my favorite of theirs remains the garage mix of Grace Jones’ Love On Top Of Love.
