MASH – Horn Of Africa

While mostly known for big main room beats from the likes of the Crookers, Southern Fried Records occasionally turn out a wee gem that steers away from the obvious and shines with class. One such release is this tasty wee outing from Glasgow’s Mash, entitled “Horn of Africa”.

From his early days as one half of The Jengaheads through to his current incarnation, Mash has always had a reputation for quality house beats.

Here, he takes his foot off the gas and lets the bass do the talking alongside a catchy vocal snippet and piles of atmosphere.

He also has this rather nice wee rework of The 2 Bears lined up for release on Southern Fried in January and is working on a long-player for Glasgow Underground.
