Thunderball – 12 Mile High
After a long hiatus, lo fi funk and lounge groovers Thunderball are back with a new album “12 Mile High” on ESL in November. The lay off, which included time as Fort Knox Five has allowed them to take their trademark sound and add further elements of production and instrumentation to develop the groove they are so well know for. Expect sitars, tight brass, funk guitars and wagons of soul.
Stand out tracks include soul and funk guitar number “I C Colors”, “Dub Science” with its blissed out groove and the tight brass of acid jazz number “Flippin it On”. If you like previous Thunderball stuff you’re gonna love this.
