Known as the Queen of Rock & Roll, Tina Turner has a career spanning over 50 years in the business. Her back catalogue is a vast array of solo work, rock anthems, duets and her raw earlier material with husband Ike. She is also partial to an amazing cover or two.
While she became a massive success in the 80s and 90s, for me her best performances are from earlier in her career from the 60s into the early 70s. Tunes like “River Deep, Mountain High” and “It’s Gonna Work Out Fine” cemented her status as one of the best voices around , demonstrated perfectly with today’s pick.
