June 28th sees Zero 7 release their best of compilation – “Record”. Along with the first CD that’s packed with the highlights from their rather impressive back catalogue – there’s also a cracking 2nd CD of remixes old and new. With mixes from the likes of Stereolab, Joker & Ginz, Photek and Mock & Toof – you can be guaranteed of the quality. It’s Carl Craig’s brilliant take on “Futures” that’s particularly tickled us though. Top drawer spacey techno is the order of the day here – and when the vocals wander in about half way through you’ll be reaching for the imaginary lasers. It’s a cracker.
