When old skool drum n bass classics get the often inevitable remix to bring them up to date, they very rarely improve upon the original and more often that not just send you scurrying back to your vinyl collection to dig it out. Lynx’s take on the Metalheadz classic “Pulp Fiction” however, proves the exception to the rule.

The Alex Reece original was a bit of a game changer in the drum n bass world upon it’s release in 1995, it’s simple 2-step rhythm splitting opinions throughout the scene. For me, it’s an absolute classic and this rework retains the simplicity of the original while piling on Lynx’s sheen and polish.

Set for release in April on the revived Razor’s Edge offshoot of Metalheadz with S.P.Y’s take on the Rufige Kru’s “Terminator” sharing the vinyl space.

A Metalheadz classic…remixed by the mighty Commix….for free download…oh yes! With the long-awaited “Recall to Mind” remix album set to land (kinda) soon, Cambridge’s finest have decided to give away this remix for free. It’s a brilliant wee slice of steppy drum n bass with the trademark Commix sheen. It’s a fairly simple job but with enough sub bass to get any dancefloor going.
