Two names that are popping up on the Labs in the last 12 months are George Fitzgerald and Hotflush. The former is developing into a prolific producer who seamlessly combines genres such as house, garage, funky and dubstep with consummate ease. The later is easily one of the best electronic labels of 2012 with amazing releases from Paul Woolford, Sigha & Sepalcure to name a few.

Title track “Shackled” bring us a dominant bass line and synth stabs that are lifted and lifted by a soulful vocal and stellar arrangement.

B side “Feel Like” might just be my favourite of the release with its night crawlers vibes and smooth vocals.

Finishing off is “Friend In High Places” which has a real funky vibe and a more ethereal beat keeping things more on the low down.

Hot Flush are at it again, this time getting the remix vibe on the go with some quality change ups of tracks from Sepalcure’s brilliant “Love Pressure EP” from last Summer.

Its a stellar cast of remixers with the likes of Falty DL bringing the funky beats and Jimmy Edgar delivering a dirty downbeat house masterclass. We also have reworks from Lando Kal and Daedelus.

Scuba‘s debut album “A Mutual Antipathy” stuck out for me as one of 2008s best, blending deep electronica with dubby techno vibes and dubstep. So when this new EP appeared on Hotflush I was keen to dive in head first.

No disappointments here then with more of the same – even wandering into 170BPM territory with “Symbiosis”. Available on double 12″ and digital download from November 2nd, get this on your turntables and iPods and enjoy the goodness.
