With just a couple of days to go we give you a run down on what to expect at what has become the best street music festival in Scotland, The Electric Frog.

Its hard to believe that this is the third Electric Frog this year and the previous events have delivered many quality artists from the field of electronic music. The September Weekender is no different with a DJ based Saturday that includes Frankie Knuckles, Joe Clausell and Levon Vincent just for starters. Oh did I mention Jeff Mills? Or Derrick May?

The Sunday concentrates with live acts with acts as diverse as local hero Konx-om-Pax, through Errors, Mogwai and The Fall before finishing with the mighty Orb.

We are also delighted to say that the organisers have taken the opportunity to celebrate 10 years of the Glasgow clubbing institution Melting Pot. Its been the home of the highest quality real house music since it began. Check out a set from resident Andrew Pirie below.

Jeff Mills is coming to Glasgow. Although this is not unusual, what make this visit special is that he is hear to celebrate 18 years of Rubadub records by playing in the world famous Subclub. Jeff is far more used to playing larger venues and festivals these days, so the chance to see him rip the dance floor to pieces in an intimate 500 capacity venue is one not to be missed. Today sees Glasgow’s Rubadub Records celebrate 18 years in the business with a special event at the Sub Club tonight featuring Jeff Mills (more on that this afternoon!). So we thought it’d be apt for today’s classic to be from their old friends – Underground Resistance.

Rolando’s “Jaguar” from 99 was probably one of UR’s most commercially successful moments and it’s the track that sticks in the mind of many from the UR back catalogue. So sit back, enjoy and raise a glass to Rubadub!
