Well as today is Halloween I thought a nice wee roasted pumpkin might do the job. Only after I’ve managed to carve a scary face into it first of course.

Then up we’ve got a cracking re-edit of the Michael Jackson classic “Thriller”. One of Glasgow’s finest collectives Ooft are behind the controls on this one, stripping back the vocals and using more of the spooky sounds throughout.

Lastly we’ve got Zombie Zombie with their rework of the theme from Halloween. This came out a couple of months ago on their EP of John Carpenter covers and you can snag it at Juno. Tis a doomy chunk of house goodness sure to do the damage at any decent Halloween party.

Mark Broom’s re-edit of Michael Jackson’s “Off The Wall” was an absolutely brilliant chunk of funky as ya like techy house with disco sprinklings and he’s repeated the trick on his brilliant new release – “Supersnout”. It’s a cracking wee number with a big discoy bassline, catchy vocal hook and a driving kick and percussion underbelly. Mr 303 wanders in about 6 minutes in and keeps things interesting right through to the end of the track’s near 9 minute duration. Brilliant stuff.
