The time has finally arrived. The most hyped tune of the last 12 months now has a vinyl release on Swamp81. From the first time this tune was played on RinseFM by DJ Oneman till now, the identity of the artist still remains a mystery.

The smart money in on Joy Orbison but nothing has been confirmed. It certainly has the Joy O style of synth and vocal chops but regardless of that, its a top tune.

Let’s face it, we’ll all been there. It’s Saturday morning, you wake up….slowly thinking back….nope can’t remember…all you know is you had one too many rums last night and everything after the breakdancing is a blur. In this situation, breakfast can be a chore so each Saturday morning we’ll be bringing you a snack of choice that you can leave beside your bed next Friday evening in advance of Saturday’s bout of “the fear”.

Next up it seems Jamie Woon’s “Lady Luck” remix train just keeps on coming! We’ve already gushed over the absolutely brilliant original and Hudson Mohawke rework and there’s another to add to the pile.

Royce Wood Junior is behind the controls on this one and pushes the legal funk limit. Once it drops at about 1.20 you’ll find yourself remembering this may have been what inspired last night’s breakdancing. Thanks to RCRDLBL for this one.

There has been a hugh buzz around the tune “Sicko Cell” since DJ Oneman played it out on Rinse FM a few months ago. No one seems to know who produced it and names such as Joy Orbison, Jackmaster and Ramadanman were banded about. The latest is that it will be a releases on Swamp 81 later this year. In the mean time check out this tidy little remix by Pusherman.

Last up we have a cracking remix by Dark Sky of the band Alpines. They keep the beautiful vocals on the track “Ice and Arrows” and add some nice samples and synths to sharpen everything up. We have also included the original video for you to check. Oh…and its a free download!

Kryptic Minds absolutely blew me away with their “One of Us” album on Swamp 81, it was everything that was good about dubstep – deep dark atmospheres with bowel troubling sub bass and lush crisp beats. Now as a wee bonus they’ve decided to give away “Torn” – one of the tracks that didn’t quite make the final cut of the album, despite picking up a lot of dj play from Skream amongst others.

It’s a spooky rumbler with their trademark quality beats n bass and the odd dubby skank throughout so get it downloaded and get it loud asap.

Kryptic Minds – Torn

If this has tickled your tastebuds – make sure to pick up their “Badman”/”Distant” release on Swamp 81. this Friday.

Coming as the second release on Loefah’s Swamp 81 imprint, Skream retains the doomy vibe of the first release (Kryptic Minds’ brilliant “One Of Us” album) with “Repercussions Of A Razorblade” and proves once again that there’s more to him than the shady wobblefests. What you get for your money is an eerie half stepper with a clunky break wrapped up in a warm fuzz of eerie atmospherics and deep sub bass. Absolutely brilliant stuff.

“New Dawn” on the flip is along similar lines but lacks the nice disjointed feeling of the a side.
