Cosmic Machine: A Voyage Through French Cosmic and Electronic Avant-garde (1970-1980)

While disco was conquering the world in the 70s, the more experimental producers in France were taking those early blueprints and working on material that would lay the groundwork for the French acts like Daft Punk that would later go on to conquer the world of electronic music.

This compilation gathers together some of the finest moments from the decade and showcases material that will be new to the majority of ears. Time has been kind of the tracks however and most will easily find their way into playlists of the current tastemakers.

With rather rotund basslines a-plenty and swirly synths on full pelt, the album’s twenty strong tracklist is packed to the brim with goodies from the likes of Pierre Bachelet, Cerrone, Serge Gainsbourg and many many more.

As a wee added bonus, Norwegian disco monster Prins Thomas pops by and remixes one of the album’s stand out tracks.
