With his Jupiter Jazz collabs with Maceo Plex doing big business at the moment it seems Danny Daze is far from resting on his laurels. He’s been busy in the studio and his next release is set to land on Ellum Audio on April 1st.
Opener “The Calm” sees Daze delivering a brilliant slice of moody house with a creepy spoken sample floating over a tense and tough backing.
Dexter pops in next with a remix of the opener and it sees the Dutchman flatten things out a little and turn in a cracking rework that chops the originals vocals to the bare essentials and splices it together with a fuzzy analogue outing.
Mr Daze re-appears to close things off with the lovely “I See You There”, a chunky number that lulls you into a false sense of security with its floaty vocal interludes and spacey synths before toughening up once we get going.
Its another impressive release for the producer that should guarantee his name is on the lips of many in 2013.
