The “Experiments In Dub” EP introduced us to the world of the Dubmonger back in April and while it’s been on constant rotation here, we were keen to hear some new material from the project.
The man behind the mask is perhaps more familiar in his drum n bass guise Morphy but this new outlet appears to be where his heart truly lies and where he feels most at home.
The eerie notes of “Amalgam” kick off proceedings and once again the overall quality shines through from the very start. As the listener moves through the six tracks contained within, the melancholy melodica makes the odd appearance and the emphasis is, as you’d expect, laid heavily upon the lower frequencies.
The stand-out track for me however is “9000 Year Lease” with its rich echo laden sound wrapping itself around your head and weighing itself down with percussion and atmospheric depth.
You can get your hands on the whole EP over at dubmonger.com now.
As an added bonus, you can grab some free dubbyness from the ‘monger in the shape of “Twenty Paces” below.
