While the youth of today are all hungrily lapping up all the “deep house” they can get their hands on, 19 year old Geordie producer Elliot Adamson is taking things down a darker path. He’s quickly racked up a reputation as one to watch with support from taste-makers such as Levon Vincent and Breach and his latest outing sees him join the ranks of London imprint Tough Luck.
The four tracks contained within “Dirty Art” showcase a production talent far beyond his years, from the opening strings of “Features” (which for some reason reminds me of classic progressive house, before it all went a bit shite) through the eerie vocal chops of “Deprived” via the thumping percussion of “Heb 12″ and closing on the absolutely amazing and otherworldly atmosphere of “Starlight”, it’s a brilliant EP that marks Adamson out as one of the best new producers to grace the world of electronic music for quite some time.
Keep an eye out for this landing on August 11th.
He’s also known for turning in some rather tidy edits over on his Soundcloud, taking on some classic funk and soul as well as house and techno and this Chic rework is providing a perfect accompaniment to a sunny Glasgow afternoon.
