With a collection of aliases so large you’d think he was an international crime lord packing a bag full of passports to help him escape any interference from the law, Felix Dickinson has built up a back catalogue of material for esteemed imprints such as DFA and International Feel and his latest outing sees him add Futureboogie to that already impressive list.
The “Burning Flame” EP comes with two Dickinson originals, the first of which (the title tracks) is a lovely shiney slab of acid tinged house with an analogue feel and a polished digital lean.
Hackman and Machete Savane are drafted in on remix duties but the original edges their altogether decent reworks. The second original on here comes in the shape of “Seven Measures”, a low slung, low tempo funk fuelled number that has “summer bbq” written all over it.
This lands on 12th of May, get yourself over to Juno quick smart and get your pre-order on.
Felix is also a rather fine DJ, so to get a further taster of his sound, grab this cracking mix from January:
