Guest Mix: Phil Weeks goes Crate Diggin’

While the art of crate digging is considered long lost with the convenience of online record shopping taking away the fun of looking through dusty crates of vinyl in the hunt for that elusive track or break, there are still those that strive for its survival with Paris DJ Phil Weeks being a firm advocate.

His sets are regularly spinkled with lost classics and forgotten gems and he’s decided to share some of his favourites with the world. The “Crate Diggin” series on Robsoul will arrive in 3 parts and contain 29 tracks from the likes of DJ Sneak, Mood II Swing and Rick Wade (full tracklisting over at BeatsMedia) that were previously only available on long out of print vinyl runs.

The first part arrives on the 26th of July with Part 2 following on the 9th of August and the 3rd and final installment arriving on the 23rd of August. There will also be vinyl samplers for each part and these will land in September.

So to give you a taster of what to expect, Phil Weeks has kindly put together this brilliant mix exclusively for us featuring tracks from the series alongside some other bits and bobs.
