It’s a well known fact that Glasgow has always punched well above its weight in the world of music and the sound of electronic music has undoubtedly benefited from some of the producers that our fine city has brought to the wider world.

There’s no sign of this legacy stopping and one producer we predict you’ll be hearing a lot of this year is Chris Smith AKA Unit Trax, a Glaswegian temporarily relocated in London. He’s been doing his thing around the city for years now and I’ve heard his sound slowly take shape across many tempos and forms but for my money he’s pretty much nailed it now.

With a deep love for and knowledge of classic techno shining through his material he’s been attracting attention from some rather esteemed imprints and it’s only a matter of time before his work makes it way into your playlists.

He’s put us together a belter of a guest mix to help you get to know him and his sound a bit better and you can get in and about some of his material below.

Mon the Unit Trax.

Future Sound of London obsessive with a taste for moody house, techno and drum n bass. I was also rather partial to speed garage and am still slightly obsessed with early 90s rave. To keep up with more of my shocking banter or to get in touch you can get me on Google+ and Twitter.
