hammock-kenotic

I first came across Hammock when I heard the album “Maybe They Will Sing for Us Tomorrow”. The post rock undertones combined with ambient noise and field recordings created a desolate yet engaging soundscape. Delving deeper into their back catalogue on Bandcamp, I discovered “Kenotic” which first saw a release in 2005.

The 15 track album is without doubt my favourite of their works. Thats not to say their later work is any less enthralling, it just the mood captured and the sonic landscape that is created make you want to listen over and over again. This is never off the iPod.

I have picked out a few of my favourites for all out friends on HypeM and Shuffler FM while also including the whole album from the their Soundcloud page to click play and enjoy.
