Josh Wink made a tremendous return to form last year with the brilliant “When A Banana Was Just A Banana” album. Showing he still had what it took to produce brilliant techno and house with an ear for the all important melody and hook, the album found its way onto my playlist for months following its release. Now, to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Wink’s Ovum imprint, he’s sent in the remixers to do their dirty work on it.
Some of the finest techno and house producers in the world stepped up to the fold including Jimpster, Radio Slave, Martin Buttrich, Slam, Nic Fanciulli and Pascal Feos but it’s the Matthias Tanzman remix of “Airplane Electronique” that sticks out as my personal fave, retaining the catchy hook of the original and wrapping it in a warm tech house package.

The digital version is now available to download at Beatport and vinyl fans have an extra treat lined up in the shape of artwork from Emmy-nominated character designer Parker Jacobs spread over the six seperate 12″ releases.
