London-based label Ricochet Records have been doing their thang since 2008 and with fifteen solid releases under their belt, they’ve become known for top quality breakbeat infused techno and house shenanigans.
The latest release sees label boss Lifecycle once again step to the fore with the “Broken Tech Sketches EP”. The three originals contained within all showcase the producer’s talent for spacious soundscapes with tough drums, minor key melodies and huge amounts of bass.
While the tracks can’t be easily squeezed into any pigeonhole, this is completely to their merit and make them of use to any DJ with a taste for wandering off the well worn path.
There are also a couple of remixes in the pack but the originals far outshine them and you can grab this EP over at Beatport.
To mark the release, Lifecycle has also put together this rather tidy mix to showcase some forthcoming Ricochet material alongside beats from the likes of John Tejada and Shed.
