10 Best: DJ Equipment 2014

Lorca – Forgive Me Love / Naoko

Lorca

While Ben Westbeech is off around the world being an international DJ superstar it seems his focus on his own Naked Naked imprint has not slipped in the slightest.

For the label’s seventh release he’s signed up promising new talent Lorca. With a small but perfectly catalogue of releases for the likes of 2020 Vision and Dummy’s label amongst others his material has been swiftly finding its way into the playlists of the great and the good.

“Forgive Me Love” opens his offering and your hard-earned gets you a lovely shiney slab of sophisticated house goodness with enough bottom end to keep the healthiest of sound systems happy. “Naoko” on the flip heads down a slightly darker path and its here we find the pick of the bunch.

Combining subtle percussive elements with a smoke-laden atmosphere and a serious amount of sub it’s a seriously impressive track that showcases the producer’s talent for the deeper numbers. Lovely stuff.

Available now on limited 12″ vinyl and digital download.
