The art of crate digging has been all but destroyed by the ease of availability of music these days and the thrill of discovering a forgotten bit of vinyl with an amazing unexposed b-side is one not experienced by many in today’s musical world.
Now Again Records certainly feel the same and have decided to share 21 lost soul classics, previously tucked away on the flipside of funk 45s and all of which will probably be new to your ears. The label have also coined the genre of “sweet funk” and one listen to the tracks contained explains why with gems from Hot Chocolate, Ed Nelson, Eunice Collins and more.
The album comes on double vinyl or CD with an 80-page booklet, filled with rare photos and the history of all the bands featured.
You can get your hands on “Loving On The Flip Side, Sweet Funk and Beat-Heavy Ballads” from the 25th of September below and you can grab a free taster below.
