Max Richter’s “Memoryhouse” reissued
Max Richter’s amazing debut album from 2002 – “Memoryhouse” has just been re-issued and anyone with an interest in ambience and classical music with a modern twist has to pick this up.
The album’s long been out of print but I’ve been hooked for the past couple of years after a chance discovery of Max’s work.
Here’s a bit of background info on the album:
The project is structured around a basic theme which recurs in various transformations throughout, drawing inspiration from real and imagined events from the last century, the music of Mahler, Bach, Messaien, Beethoven, Cage, The Beatles, as well as Max’s work with electronic music.
Here’s some audio from the album – courtesy of Max Richter’s Soundcloud page.
