Optimum – Lily
The name Optimum first appeared on our radar with a brilliant American Men remix (alongside Ikonika) and now he makes his debut for the legendary Planet Mu with a brilliant 3-tracker in the shape of “Max Power”. The first two tracks were ok but it was the closer – “Lily” that really jumped out for me.
Spacey pads lead their way into a lovely dubby 130 BPM number, with piles of atmospherics on top of a head nodder of a sub bass line and floaty synth work ahoy. Lovely stuff.
