For the eighth release on our Phuturelabs label we welcome Glasgow producer Cruffy into the fold.
While he’s bound to be a name new to your ears, it won’t be long before you’re acquainted with his unique brand of nostalgia-tinged house and downtempo beats. The “Flying High EP” has been picking up support from some of the worlds more discerning DJs including Koreless, Mwëslee, Nok La Rok (Numbers) and Dema (LuckyMe) with radio support coming from East Village Radio in New York, PBS Melbourne and more.
The EP opens with the title track and within moments, the soft pads wash over you while a soothing wave of sub bass underpins proceedings in this classy piece of late night/early morning house. “Make Me Feel Good (88BPM)” follows and this one’s all about the drums and soulful vocal hook, sounding unlike anything you’ve heard before but with an air of familiarity. “The Gimlet” follows and we’re in straight up peak time house territory with a UK garage style backwards bassline helping things along before “You’re Mine” closes the EP in a melancholy mood.
It’s a confident EP that showcases a young talent primed to find his way into your playlist.
Thanks to Offshoot Design for the brilliant artwork.
