Plant Music – Scion CD Sampler V29

The Scion CD Sampler series has focused on some top quality labels over the years – from Kitsune to Discobelle to Fool’s Gold and many more. Volume 29 sees New York’s Plant Music fall under the spotlight.

With a back catalogue going back over a decade, Plant Music first made it’s mark with the brilliant “The Sound Of Young New York” compilations before opening up the label to talent from around the world and the whole spectrum of electronic music.

This 12 track sampler showcases the label’s current roster and there’s funk a plenty in here – from wonky house to more fidgety numbers with the odd disco injection, it’s a cracker. I’ve picked out a couple of my faves below – but head on over to Beatport to check out the rest.
