Siopis – The Masterplan EP

Crosstown Rebels launched their Rebellion offshoot in 2011 and releases from the likes of Solomun and Tim Green have shown it’s definitely not the poor cousin in the family.

The next artist to line up for the imprint is Siopis, also known as Silversurfer and with quality releases for Get Physical as well as a raft of outings for Crosstown under his belt. The three tracks contained within “The Masterplan EP” cover a lot of ground and don’t find themselves constrained to any specific pigeonhole.

The title track opens with a spacey intro leading to a lovely slab of bass heavy house before “Buy Underground” follows and toughens things up considerably with an eerie vocal that could generate “the fear” under the right circumstances.

The closer “House of Mouse” is another brilliant chunk of dark house goodness and brings things to an end nicely. It’s a killer three-tracker without any filler present and ups the ante once again for Rebellion.

Vinyl released on 18th March with digital to follow on the 1st of April.
