Techno Dads’ Home Alone mix

We’re all members of the Techno Dads club here at the Labs, spending half our life listening to obscure Berlin techno 12s and the other half running around a soft play wiping up puke.

One man however has taken things a step further and regularly posts his musings on subjects such as the origin of the hoover noise, how to make acid and dad dancing over at techno-dads.com

He’s also a rather fine DJ and has delivered this cracking guest mix for us – here’s the story behind the mix…

All is quiet. The kids have gone to their gran’s. It takes roughly 12 minutes for your average dad to descend into total jakey territory, sitting in his pants among half drunk cans of Tennents Super and congealed pizza delivery boxes blasting out Hawkwind during the X Factor and scaring the neighbours.

This mix was recorded during one such episode at 2am on a Saturday, when dad returned home to an empty house after a night on the randan. BLAM.

Some old, some new. Techno dads do often feel the expectation to break out the ‘old skool’ – but techno nostalgia is for a time when everything sounded like something you’d never heard before. Plus, these days things dad thinks of as new are generally considered old. So everyone is happy.
