Bristolian producer Troy Gunner first worked his way into our ears here at the Labs with the brilliantly moody house of “No More Tears” for esteemed garage imprint L2S in 2011 and the past few years have seen him refine his sound further and further with each release.

His latest outing sees him team up with Electro Magnetic Fields for a four-tracker packed with crisp percussion, hefty sub bass assaults and perfectly subtle hooks. I’m ALL ABOUT the drums and for me, this is a producer that’s already almost mastered the art of providing power with drums that aren’t just needlessly layered or crank, proving the old adage of less is more again and again.

Check the previews above and head on over to the EMF Bandcamp to get your pre-order on ahead of the EP’s release on the 22nd of September. Oh and keep a beady eye on Mr Gunner’s movements…

As an added bonus, XLR8R have offered up a bonus cut from the EP as a free download

Future Sound of London obsessive with a taste for moody house, techno and drum n bass. I was also rather partial to speed garage and am still slightly obsessed with early 90s rave. To keep up with more of my shocking banter or to get in touch you can get me on Google+ and Twitter.
